Photoshop Tutorial on Planets and Nebula

Hey all, a few of my friends were asking me how I made these space scenes. So I made this tutorial video on how to make them, even though I did post videos that I learned from. I think the audio quality in this video that I made is a lot better than the other videos that I have up for learning purposes.

so without further or do, here's the tutorial:

and here's the original image made in the tutorial:

Colmisari

I've taken to liking space art so much in the past 14 hours that I made another space digital scene for you guys, this one has more originality because it has custom nebula which I learned how to make via YouTube. If you want to learn how to make these I'll post the YouTube videos that I used down below as reference for you guys.

Xenophobia:

Reference Videos that I used:

For the nebula:

For the planets:

and either or to learn to make stars.

Edit: added xenophobia instead of making a new post

Oh hey look!

A couple hours and a few YouTube videos and website tutorials later and I made this

It's not much but it's the first in it's series. stick around for more. All I have to do now is learn how to make custom nebula... That sounds like it will be a learning process.

Quick Update

This is just a quick update to post that I changed the way the website looks and to mention that I think I found my next big project. I really want to learn how to make giant space photos like the one I have as the background. I think that that would be really cool. <-- that is all.

A few things

I haven't really posted on this blog and I should really focus more on posting finished art pieces here. I probably should start promoting this blog a lot more too, mostly because I like to share my art with people.

There are a couple pieces that I have done that I have yet to post here which I will do now.

this one is called Mountains of Isilius. It is the first of it's kind, that of which being made by me of course. I always wanted to do a photoshop painting of a mountain landscape but never really liked anything I had done previously pertaining to that particular subject. One night I finally got focused and inspired enough to make something big, and good enough to actually want to put my signature on it.

This next piece is pretty big as well and was inspired by Lord of the Rings, as well as the picture above.

There's always a Yin and a Yang to everything, and though I wasn't particularly thinking that at the time of making this second mountain painting it's blatantly obvious now. This piece is called "black tower of morstirus" and is basically the evil twin to my Isilius mountain range. Once again both are VERY heavily influenced by lord of the rings. I kind of went through a "OMFG LORD OF THE RINGS" faze toward the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011.

This next one is a lot different from the other two, most likely because of the distance time wise between the groups.

I focused on just using the tweaking in Photoshop, this one doesn't really have any particular form of brush strokes with the exception of a few spots. I like taking textures and playing with them, I'm thinking of doing more like this with the GRID name on them. I hope that GRID isn't already taken as a series of art texture pieces... that would suck.

All in all I had a lot of fun making all of these, The only part that I got really annoyed with would be when I decided to hit a series of buttons and accidentally delete my first copy of the GRID project picture. That's why we save every 5 minutes kids...

I look forward to releasing more content soon.
